so now i know what my sister marchesa is talking about when she rants about stalkers. i found some.. kind of like finding mice in your apartment. you gasp and scream and feel afraid, but then learn to live with them. you just have to make sure you keep your place clean and hopefully they'll leave you alone.

it's the price of fame and good looks. hahahah.
just kidding.

i saw les miserables last night. the seats were bad, but it has always been my dream as a child to see it. now i'm a grown up and can spend money to watch a broadway show in the city. kind of cool and kind of ew. i loved the set design; it was simplistic and complex simultaneously--i don't know how to describe it, but i felt it was really smart. i saw a more contemporary broadway show a month ago and the set design was hoaky in the sense that it was really literal. also, the second act was soooo sloowwww. as soon as valjean started singing in falsetto it was time to sleep, hahah. i was also surprised to find myself remembering most of the words. overall--good times, bad seats.

happy new year everyone :]
it's the year of the dog.

i am just posting to write about my accordian, which i named aña. she is pearly pink and only plays in one key, hahah. but it's ok, it's something new and when you translate your ideas into a different medium, the results are always surprising and have the potential to lead to something better than you have imagined.

actually, my accordian is just one of the many things to happen to me--

i am also an aunt (again) to samuel chi hong :] le squiggly
i went to poughkeepsie to see my sister and the baby, as did the rest of my family, but he had all of us waiting. on the day of my departure, the little boy decided to race his way out of the cavernous womb to say, "WUDDUPTITA" which sounded like a little "WAH!"  our meeting was short, but at least i got to see him fresh and new. he is super cute--really.

with work, i'm a little jaded. i don't ever have to be someone's coffee goon as some people assumed, but there is a creative box that i have to work in that gets me discouraged about entering the real working world. with school, i'm constantly being challenged to work toward a smart solution whereas at work, they give me assignments where they expect me to make corrections and plug type in a template. i work with real professional designers, but i feel like they've sold away their soul to the man, hahah. yes, i am coping with all of this, reminding myself that God put me here for a reason and it is/will be a great blessing. yah!

one more-- i had a kumquot today. they are so strange, but delightfully delectable citrus fruits. they are grape-shaped oranges of which you eat the peel. ISN'T THAT CRAZY?

good news:

God blessed me with a job! i didn't even consider it as my top 10 initially, but my advisor gave my name to the company anyway. I went to the interview and it turned out my friend was the current co-op working there. She referred me to her boss and landed me first priority. I felt really good about the interview and the design position in the end and it made its way to the top of my 'hope i get this job out of the places i interviewed already' list. oh.. it's the intern position at the marketing design department of the boston globe. God is super awesome--

as for the other places.. i'm going to prepare for them better next time around (which is the last).

so i start training in two weeks. before i leave for vacation. i bought a semester T pass.. here's to commuting! and a new wardrobe, hahh

my first real job :]
